Academics & STREAM Connection

Middle schoolers dive deeper—connecting disciplines, solving bigger problems, and collaborating more broadly:

  • Interdisciplinary Projects: Students cycle through science-technology design challenges and humanities-driven research assignments.

  • Developing Digital Citizenship: With our value-driven model, students use AI, coding, and communications tools ethically and creatively.

  • Arts-Integrated Expression: From visual storytelling to performance, creativity amplifies critical thinking and personal growth.

These experiences reinforce character as they navigate teamwork and deadlines, instill a sense of belonging through shared collaboration, and build confidence through progressive responsibility.

Overview of Classes

Our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders enjoy seven academic periods throughout the school day. Each student takes four core classes; English Language Arts (ELA), Math, Science, and Social Studies.

Sixth graders also have one working study hall period, one period split between Spanish (Mon, Wed) and PE (Tues, Thurs, Fri), as well as an arts wheel. Arts wheel classes include Chorus, Performing Arts, Fine Art, and Engineering. Sixth graders may elect to take Band for the school year instead of the arts wheel for their elective. Band instruments offered at the beginning of this course include flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and baritone.

Seventh and Eighth graders move up to having five core classes each day: ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Spanish. They take PE and Engineering on a semester basis, one in the fall and one in the spring. Their elective course is a yearlong choice between Band, Chorus, Fine Art, Performing Arts, and Study Hall.
