Another week is here! I hope everyone is doing well and finding a little time to enjoy the last stretch of summer weather. Progress reports went out last week, and grades should be updated. With the first half of the semester done, we have time to finish strong!
A quick reminder that Monday, September 21, is a Teacher Workday, so students will not have school.

Four in a row!
The ERA Women’s Golf team finished in first place out of five teams in match play today at Kerr Lake Country Club, finishing 12 strokes ahead of the second-place team. Ayla Hill (SR) and Sophie Purcell (SO) tied for first place individually, 5 strokes ahead of the next closest score. Emmrie Riley (JR) finished 13th, contributing to the overall team victory. Great job, Bobcats!
General Updates and Reminders
LOCKDOWN DRILL

BLOOD DRIVE
ERA's first blood drive of the year (hosted by FCS) is coming up on Tuesday, October 6 from 9:00-2:00 in the high school gym. We need to fill 62 appointment slots and need everyone's help to make this drive a success! Anyone (16+ years of age) is welcome to donate! Click this link to sign up for

BAKE SALE
The ASL Honor Society will be hosting a bake sale during lunch on Thursday, September 17th. I am the sponsor of the ASL Honor Society. This is the first year of the club's existence - in fact, we are the first public high school in all of North Carolina to have an ASL Honor Society. Come grab a treat and support this new club!

Parents can now order their yearbooks at the lowest price of the year, using this link! Please note that although it says "Upper School," this is the K-12 yearbook and includes elementary and middle school!
VISION TO LEARN
Vision To Learn will be on campus this year providing free vision screenings, eye exams, and glasses for students—at no cost to families.
If you wish to opt-out of services, please do so ahead of time so your student is not included for participation during our school visits. All services take place during the school day. If you do not want your student to participate, complete this form.

DUKE FOOTBALL FUNDRAISER
NEXT SIGN UP DATE: SEPT 19th
This is an opportunity to make a lot of money for our ERA athletics programs. We will need 12 parents and up to 4 kids per game, but kids must be 16 and up. You will work at a Duke football concession stand, and it's busy! We will make 10% of that stand's proceeds. Please wear ERA gear as you work if possible. All adults will also need to complete online training before working (once you sign up, Brad will send you the link). ERA's Board of Directors will have their next regular monthly meeting Tuesday, September 29th starting at 5:30 p.m. at the ERA HS conference room.
