Reminder: There is no school on Monday, September 21, 2026. 

One of the challenges of being a relatively small charter school is that many of the teachers are essentially a professional learning community of one. They may be the only person teaching their particular course, doing their particular job, or dealing with a particular responsibility. Our teachers will be meeting with other charter schools staff and teachers to learn and collaborate about the unique challenges that being a team of one or few can bring. Additionally, our teachers will be undergoing CPR training in the afternoon.

Talk about STREAM learning.... Sean, Richard and Jack volunteered to fix up a "broken" keyboard in Piano class by taking it apart, repairing it, and successfully putting it back together! They're putting the "technology" and "engineering" into the arts!

MOVIE NIGHT HOSTED BY THE SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY

The Spanish Honor Society is hosting a screening of the “Book of Life” on Friday, September 25th at 6pm in the high school gym.  Admission is $5 or 3 cans of food, concessions will be sold. Come out and support their fundraiser!

Interested in helping out during the school year? We have an opportunity for you! In the spirit of our 30th anniversary, we are hoping 100 people will volunteer 30 hours this year! BLOOD DRIVE

ERA's first blood drive of the year (hosted by FCS) is coming up on Tuesday, October 6 from 9:00-2:00 in the high school gym.  We need to fill 62 appointment slots and need everyone's help to make this drive a success! Anyone (16+ years of age) is welcome to donate! Click this link to sign up for

SUBSTITUTES NEEDED

Hours are 7:30-3:30 for K-8 and 8-4 for high school. Only can commit to a half day? We have availability for that! A teaching license is not required.

Your college connect portal is officially open. The way you access your CFNC account for college connect is as follows:

2. Forgot username 

3. Forgot password 

4. Login

5. Go to search and type college connect

6. Click claim your spot

The free college application week is October 19th-26th. Make sure you email Mr. Schaffer all colleges you claim as he needs to send transcripts by email to these selected colleges. Please email Mr. Schaffer with any questions. 

APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS

NC Triangle Apprenticeship Program offers youth apprenticeships in advanced manufacturing, automotive technology, and HVAC. On Monday, October 19 from 6 pm- 8 pm at the  Hendrix Automotive Building at the WTCC Scott North Wake Campus (6851 Perry Road, Raleigh, NC 27616) there will be several interactive sessions to engage and educate attendees.

• What is NCTAP Panel Discussion

  The panel will explain what apprenticeships are; details about NCTAP, what requirements are needed; what they look for in an apprentice; and required education/certifications that are necessary for completion.

• Ask an Apprentice

  Space where students and parents can ask current and graduated apprentices questions about their path and experience.

• Tour of Wake Tech’s Automotive Labs

  This tour showcases classes that are available in automotive technology at the WTCC Scott North Campus.

• NCTAP Companies/Apprenticeship Agencies Fair

  Company representatives will be available to answer questions regarding career opportunities within their companies.

DUKE FOOTBALL FUNDRAISER

NEXT SIGN UP DATE: SEPT 26th

This is an opportunity to make a lot of money for our ERA athletics programs. We will need 12 parents and up to 4 kids per game, but kids must be 16 and up. You will work at a Duke football concession stand, and it's busy! We will make 10% of that stand's proceeds. Please wear ERA gear as you work if possible. All adults will also need to complete online training before working (once you sign up, Brad will send you the link). Parents can now order their yearbooks at the lowest price of the year, using this link! Please note that although it says "Upper School," this is the K-12 yearbook and includes elementary and middle school!

ERA's Board of Directors will have their next regular monthly meeting Tuesday, September 29th starting at 5:30 p.m. at the ERA HS conference room.   Public comments are welcome and can be made in person, live over Zoom, or submitted in advance (no later than 1 p.m. Sept 29th) to board@enoriveracademy.org.  We hope to see you there.  More information and links about ERA's Board can be found here.
