AP Environmental Science  researched ways in which ERA/their home could use less natural resources.

After conducting audits of water/energy/fossil fuel use, and waste production they decided on things that could be done to decrease their ecological footprint.

The students spoke with experts in sustainable design, and renewable energy production and presented their findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

CBYX scholarship recipients spend one academic year attending a German high school, living with a German host family, participating in cultural immersion programs and seminars, and serving as a youth ambassador. Students who are U.S. Citizens between the ages of 15 and 18 ½ (date of birth between February 1, 2009 – August 1, 2012) with a GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale are eligible to apply. Seniors who meet our age eligibility requirements are also welcome to apply as a “gap year” prior to beginning college. No prior German knowledge is required. The online application can be found at www.usagermanyscholarship.org, and the application deadline is November 3, 2026.
